Dental implants are a popular method for tooth replacement, however complications and failures occur. Professional implant maintenance is critical. How clinicians approach implant assessment and provide implant maintenance care becomes a relevant topic. This presentation will discuss a recent UCSF study on national implant care practices, and the surprising results, and discuss methodologies to improve clinical practices so patients receive the best care possible.
Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to: 1) discuss key clinical aspects to achieve lifelong implant success; 2) identify critical components of the implant assessment process; and 3) apply the most modern and effective mechanical biofilm therapies for simple and complex implant prosthetic designs.
