Surgical Track - Molecular Dissection of the Bone-implant Interface

Dr. Omar is an Associate Professor and holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (2000) from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Benghazi and a PhD in Medicine (2010) from the University of Gothenburg, with a thesis on the Mechanisms of Osseointegration. His area of expertise is on the interactions of tissues and cells with materials, with major emphasis on factors regulating inflammation and tissue regeneration at the tissue-biomaterial interface. He has developed cellular and molecular analytical platforms for studies on molecular and structural relationship at the tissue-material interface.
