Molecular Dissection of the Bone-implant Interface

  2:00 - 2:30 pm

Omar Omar BDS, PhD

Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to: 1) deduce the in-vivo cellular and molecular events of osseointegration, and the influence of implant surface properties on these events; 2) relate the molecular activities of the implant-near cells to structural and ultrastructural development of the bone-implant interface; and 3) underscore the importance of major biological processes, including inflammation and coupled bone remodeling, for the establishment of a functional connection between the implant surface and the recipient bone.
