Opening Symposium | What Human Factors Remain for the Implant Clinician?

Dr. Pinsky is a practicing general dentist as well as a full time international airline pilot. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Zoology and a D.D.S. He has completed a general practice residency at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. After his GPR, he began a dual track of practicing dentistry part time and flying as a professional pilot. He started as a copilot for a small commuter airline based in Rhode Island, and has progressed to his current position as a Airbus A-330 International Captain and Line Check Airman. While flying full time, he has also never strayed far from dentistry. After a long stint in private practice, he has recently been spending his time giving back to the dental profession by teaching at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is also the author of a 2010 JADA paper entitled “Adaptation of Airline Crew Resource Management Principles to Dentistry” where he proposed the regular use of a dental checklist – every patient, every time.
