Several all-ceramic systems were developed over the past few decades to meet the increased demand of patients and dentists for metal-free restoration. However, dentists face challenges with the choice of materials that are nowadays available for implant prosthodontics. This presentation will provide clinical data and the present scientific knowledge on by-layer as well as monolithic all-ceramic systems.
Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to: 1) describe the material properties and how they influence their indications in clinical application; 2) analyze the strength characteristics after fatigue and the clinical longevity of various CAD/CAM and all-ceramic systems; and 3) explain a rationale for material selection.
